I have been wanting to get a dedicated ‘Gone Fishing’ website up and running for some time now, and break it out of the Living Spirit site (which is a much more corporate affair). I am delighted to tell you that I have found a very talented designer who is going to take on the challenge of building the world class site that ‘Gone Fishing’ in needs.
His name is Joe Gardner and you can see some of his work here. He is currently working in San Diego and he came to me through James Barham, who is (still) editing the Gone Fishing seminar (yes he is chained to a chair here wading through hours of footage, but its coming together very nicely). Joe is going to give me some ideas of how he wants the site to look and interact, and then build it. I suspect I will be maintaining it in the long run, updating if we win festivals or get awards, so that means it has to built a little like a CMS (Content Management System). Here is part of the brief I sent him so he has a better idea of what we are after in terms of feel (we will get to how the site functions later on).
Attached is an image from the DVD menu to give you a sense of feel (above). Think of summer, by a lake, in the country, the sun shines, no wind… and meeting a girl who you fall in love with, like first love… she is just like an angel. A real Kodachrome memory…
I can’t wait to see what he comes up with. Of course, we need it all up before Cannes, so no pressure then!
Onward and upward!
