LSF2010 Delegate Feedback

LSF 2010 : Delegate Feedback Quotes
, the first round of feedback is in…! And we just had to share it with you all. We are still colating loads of data, as well as feedback and comments from our terrific speakers. More to come but here is a starter…

Photo44 'I met writers, producers, editors, agents, directors, actors, script editors, and more… I expanded my network in meaningful ways. I got insights, inspiration and interest: Now that's pretty cool. I found help, understanding and ways ahead. All adds up to a weekend well spent. Priceless really'
Simon Caira – Director

Alex 'A three day orgy of screenwriting can't be a bad thing. Writing can be a lonely business and a festival like this is a fantastic way to get you out and talking to real people again. This festival is great value for money – a great way to get out of your comfort zone, meet like minded people and discuss the craft we love. You can get practical advice on everything from managing your finances to handling rejection. You can attend small seminars and get the nitty gritty details or indulge in a bit of fan worship, too. Maybe you'll get inspired and get answers to burning questions or maybe help someone out of a creative rut. For an emerging writer like me it was a great way to increase career prospects by just meeting the people who can help, face to face and having a chat…you really don't know who you might meet over a cup of tea and a cake. Make some new friends – just don't forget your business cards'

Tapasbar1 'I thought the LSWF was tremendous, not only did we get to listen and interact with great speakers, the sessions were genuinely informative, educational, entertaining and helpful. I also got to meet fantastic talented people. Where in the 'real' world could you just sit down with a stranger at a table and immediately have something in common? I not only made some brilliant contacts, hopefully I've made a few friends'
PETER SPENCER – Screenwriter

880664467'I genuinely found LSF 2010 to be of great value in improving my knowledge of both the technical aspects of screenwriting as well as the requirements of the surrounding industry. It was packed full of quality sessions covering the whole spectrum from formal lectures through to discussion groups and ultimately speed pitching. The many opportunities to learn when surrounded by so many talented, creative and energised people, both professional and amateur, should not be missed. I thoroughly recommend it'
GORDON SLACK – Screenwriter

IMG_0225 'The opportunity to speed pitch was priceless and a brilliant experience that I will never forget. I networked with scores of people with whom I will definitely keep in touch and through whom I have joined local screenwriter groups and signed up for courses and training. Immersing yourself in this world for three days was like heaven and I couldn't recommend it highly enough to people who love screenwriting'
SARA WILCOX – Screenwriter, London

880664467'You know things are going well when on by the second day of the festival it takes you 30 minutes to get from one side of the bar to the other – not because it's people you know but because people you don't are asking how your day has gone and what you've seen. It's great that the delegates feel comfortable enough to put themselves out there'
STEVE WILSON, Screenwriter and film maker

Jimbob1'At cheltenham there was a distinction between the speakers and the delegates. But here (LSF) it feels more intimate and accessible – it feels like the speakers are really available to help you. There's a feeling that we're all in this together'

Erinma 'My favourite sessions were the Hollywood Hook ups – great fun, inspiring, motivating – thanks to John August i will write the end first – makes perfect sense!'

Alii ‘I can't even describe how much I got out of the festival – it was a great learning experience in terms of my writing and I had the great fortune to meet such wonderful individuals who I already know I'll be friends with for a very long time. Everyone I've spoken to post-Festival has said the same thing. You all did a terrific job and I am so very excited for LSWF 2011!’
ALLI PARKER – Writer, London

Image013 ‘As a writer based in Yorkshire, I found the festival to be of huge use. It made me realise that I am not alone, no matter how I might feel on a day to day basis! Networking was great, meeting other writers was great, hearing the opinions and advice of industry pro's was great too! But, most of all, I walked away with a few new friends and the feeling that I am on the right track and not wasting my time… I'll definitely see you there in 2011’
CHRIS MARSHALL – Writer, Yorkshire

I cannot recommend it highly enough’

880664467‘I just want to say that the festival really was amazing. I learned more in three days than in any of the months' long courses I've taken. How terrific to get to hear from people who are happily and successfully working in film, and how great to be at an event on screenwriting where just about everyone is welcoming and accessible. Thank you so much for organising an event with such great content and tone!’
LINDA MANNHEIM – Writer, London

Brittany163 'This was a life changing experience. I came down as an emerging writer who was still unsure whether my ideas were strong enough. However the speed pitching and Euroscript clinic gave such encouraging feedback that I realised they certainly were. As a result I feel I have taken a huge leap forward both in terms of writing and the tenacity required to make projects happen. Thank you very much for organising this event'
E J FISHER – Writer

MichelleGoodeLSWF 'No matter how much you think you know, there's always more to learn and ways to up your game; the festival covers it all. You'll leave feeling invigorated and raring to go. MICHELLE GOODE – Screenwriter
