£10k Comp for Genre Movies

I just got this email about a £10k competition… It’s for genre work, which you know is up my street, so check it out.

You may have heard that we’ve launched a new round of 25 Words Or Less, this time alongside Warp X, Vertigo and Slingshot, geared towards writing for low budget features.

We’d be really grateful if you could let your clients know. It is a great opportunity to get a project into development with these companies and we hope they will move swiftly into production.

The three genres are:

Low-Fi Sci- Fi – Warp X
Comedy “arising out of a case of mistaken identity” – Vertigo
Teen Hitchcock  – Slingshot

For each genre the successful writer will be paid £10,000. Rights will be split equally between the writer, UKFC and production partner.

Application deadline is 13th July. Guidelines and application form attached, further details below and at http://www.ukfilmcouncil.org.uk/filmmaking/funding/features/development/25woldcgdlns/

There are also helpful articles in both the current and next issue of ScriptWriter magazine which we’ll post on our web site.

Get Writing then!
