So the nominations are in…. 6.20am local time…

After watching live around the globe, many of us dashed to our computers to get to Oscars.com… If you don’t know by now, Gone Fishing was not nominated.

We were in the official shortlist of ten films from which the five nominations were drawn. But the judges placed us somewhere between film number six and ten. We got notification about this Official Shortlist last December, but we were told that we could not announce it or tell anyone.

It’s a sad day for us all, but let’s not linger here, let’s regroup and see what new horizons await Gone Fishing and what new and exciting projects await us all… As the Oscars chapter closes, a whole new chapter of Exciting Possibilities has just opened, and I just can’t wait.

Onwards, and if ever there was a time to say this, UPWARDS!

That´s really sad to hear that “Gone Fishing” has not been nominated. It would be soooo much deserved!

But heads up! It´s been an amazing ride til now and it´s wonderful to see what you all have accomplished!
For me I have my own Oscar winner – and that´s “Gone Fishing”. And I know that I´m not the only one to see it that way.

You can be very proud of your work, Chris and Co.!

Thank you once again for this wonderful short film that will always have a special place in my dvd collection.

    Onwards and upwards!

chris, i am certain you will get lots of comments today about the oscar selection and your short not being nominated. your journey is inspiring and i am sure it has been, and continues to be a wonderful ride for you and your group.

yes, the oscar is what many of us dream of, but you must realize what award you have given many of us other filmmakers out here, all around the world. you have given us the award of inspiration to make our journeys bigger, badder, and unlimited in scope.

as someone who works within a large festival myself, i can state that great films unfortunately don’t always get everything they deserve, for a multitude of reasons.

thank you chris for doing what you do and letting us all in for a peek. as for me, i’m going to finish my recent short, “frame”, and make it the best damn short it can be. we’ll see what journey that takes me on.

    cheers, nic beery
