It’s 3.00 am in LA and the Oscars are announced in 2 ½ hours from now. I am feeling rather calm all things considered. What will be, will be I guess.
I have had a cacophony of text messages ringing in my ear all night, from well wishers and nervously excited collaborators too. The same on email. All of them are appreciated.
I am staying with Genevieve in LA, who I made my features with and wrote the books. My fitful sleep was made more interesting by her two Doberman dogs, Crispy and Crunchy, who decided that the English guest would make an excellent bedfellow.
As the announcement is 5.30am here in LA, it has a strange Christmas feeling – it’s dark, quiet and overwhelmingly exciting. If you are in the UK, and at work, I think you can watch live on your desktop with the BBC news feed here

Good Luck Chris! You have set the goal to win the Oscar! You have worked really hard and done everything with excellence. I am keeping my fingers crossed with the rest of the Associate Producers, so much positive energy is sent your way. If I were you, I would be too nervous too sleep.
