Yes they are here! The Guerilla Film Makers Pocketbook is now in the country. And I have to say, they are rather small and beautifully formed. I had my very first box of 20 review copies a couple of weeks ago, and they are filtering out to journalists, reviewers, mags like Total Film and indie folk like Shooting People right now.
So far the reaction from readers has been unanimous – ‘oooh that’s rather cute…’ followed by ‘goodness, there’s a lot in here…’ I can confirm that the books are tiny shiny marvels of publishing and even more desirable than I had imagined when I pitched the idea to the publishers.
There are two ways.
1. With a ‘Launch Party Ticket’ (where you collect the book on the night).
2. Posted to you (where you pay additional postage).
We have a box of 200 very special ‘first edition’ books headed to me right now, direct from LA where they were signed by co-authors Gen and Andrew yesterday. When they arrive in the UK, I will sign them too. These books will be numbered 1 – 200 and represent the first 200 books available in the UK.
100 of these books are available as part of the UK launch party at The Phoenix Artists Club at number 1 Phoenix St., WC1H ODT on May 6th 2010 – effectively, buy one of these books (£15.00) and you get a ticket to the party!
It’s going to be a great event where you can meet the whole team behind the book, chat with some of the experts featured in the book, as well as network with other film makers. We will also be running a short seminar with guest speakers to be announced. Tickets are limited to 100.
Remember, you collect the book at the event.
Book and free ticket to UK Launch Party
The second 100 copies are for mail order only, for readers who cannot make the London launch party.
Book posted to UK address
Book posted to NON UK address
We do expect these to sell out rather quickly, so if you want one, I would buy it now. If you are not coming to the launch party, your book will be posted in the last week of April / Early May, depending on when they arrive with me.
And if you live in the USA, get ’em direct and signed by us all from Gen and Andrew in Hollywood. Use the button below…
What an amazing day! WOW!
Onwards and upwards!

What’s inside the Pocketbook?
– Richard
Just ordered and plan to attend the London bash. And I don’t even have a movie camera yet. Not a real one anyway. I have a Flip Mino. But I’ve managed some interesting projects with it.
I’m waiting for an Olympus E-P2. That’ll be my movie camera and street photography tool. My pro Nikon gear is destroying my back and shoulders. Time to lighten the load.
Looking forward to meeting some fellow filmmakers on May 6th.

so excited for all of you Chris and disappointed that I will miss the event by one day! uggh
But will be seeing hopefully everyone that weekend for our epic workshop. We’ll be putting all the advice in the book into practice there with everyone’s projects.
