BBC2 to show my feature film on the opening day of the London Screenwriters Festival

What a wonderful bit of serendipity. On Friday, the opening day of the festival, at 55 minutes past midnight (which I know is technically Saturday), BBC 2 is screening ‘Urban Ghost Story’. What a simply marvellous way to open the festival! So if you have never seen it, now is your chance. It was screened on BBC 1 last year and I uploaded tons of goodies to the blog then. Such as the ‘How We Did The Stunts…’ (watch here) as well as the whole chapter from the Guerilla Film Makers Handbook about how we made the film. You can read the chapter here and buy the book here.

if you are interested in comparing the film to the shooting script, you can download it here – this in itself is a powerful film education about how a story evolves from script, through shooting and finally through post production. On the production company webpage there are also more goodies, such as the whole score, the paranormal production research notes and more.

I guess now I really should sit in on a few more panels at the festival, especially the one about writers who should also produce, given I was both writer and producer on Urban Ghost Story.

It’s doubly exciting as two of our investors, Bob Young and long time Living Spirit Pictures backer and UGS Executive Producer Dave Hardwick, are also attending the festival as delegates.

Right!

Onwards and upwards!
