There were many influences on me as a very young film maker, but one documentary in particular became the inspiration and genesis for the first feature film I made with Genevieve Jolliffe, ‘The Runner’.
Putting it bluntly, this documentary was MY Guerilla Film Makers Handbook. You can see this clearly in the first part of the show. Part one is above, the rest of the show below in three more chunks…

Fascinating clips. Thanks for putting them up. I’ve never watched any of the Evil Dead films, but Raimi and friends experiences are inspiring, funny and interesting. So basically the UK is responsible for launching his career. Who would’ve thunk it.
Yep it really took me back. That whole model of Dentists and doctors and teenagers securing tens of thousands… it was EXACTLY what we then went and did with The Runner! We owe it all to Sam!
