A Masterclass In Story…

Andrew Stanton on Pixar presents a short masterclass in ‘Story’ at TED.

I was just sent this by editor friend of mine, Mark Talbot Butler. So many powerful truths compacted into such a short presentation. Gold dust.

For those of you who have not seen it, sit back and enjoy…

Onwards and upwards

Absolutely brilliant talk – make people care, show them the wonder and draw from your own passions. How few people do this well and how many crap movies do we have to endure in the process of discovering that it is a great skill we should all strive for. Best movie ever – Toy Story is up there in the top 3 – who would have believed this back in 1993.

What is so good about this video is the manner in which he makes a complex subject so simple. If we all viewed story telling so simply, then the mess we see so often would be much less.
