This weekend we hosted our ‘How To Fund A Film’ workshop, an exploration into how EIS / SEIS / UK Tax credit and crowdfunding can be combined to get your film funded.
Some of the information was truly mind boggling, both in an accountancy way, but also an opportunity way. If you can find the right investors, with the right kind of tax bills(s), and hook up with either an accounts minded producer (or diver into the paperwork yourself) then you could be in a very sweet spot.
Ivan Clements ran the majority of the day, with accountant Doug Abbot swooping in after lunch to talk about the UK Tax Credit, and I rounded up the event with Crowdfunding. Then it was off to the bar for a very much needed drink.
We will run this class again, implementing everything we learned from this, the very first one we ran, and dates will be announced soon. If youwant info on when we run the next one, sign up here…
