Gone Fishing closes at the Santa Barbara Film Festival

As Santa Barbara closes, so I hear that London has had a foot of snow while I am standing in the shade, worrying about getting too burned! It’s a strange world.

Now the festival is over, I have my time back. One thing I am planning is to run the second half of the Gone Fishing seminar that I promised to the Associate Producers – it’s about what we have done and learned since the premiere at seminar last year at BAFTA, such as festivals, awards and how the Oscars really works. When I have dates, I will let you know. If you want to see the original seminar, you can watch it here (the next seminar will be added for free once it’s filmed and edited in the coming months).

Today I am going to be strategising the rest of my LA trip, organising meetings and making some big choices about the next two years. Agents, managers, lawyers, studio directing assignments, personal writing projects…

So right now I have a pen and paper and I am about to make a BIG list… Oh and aptly, it’s Groundhog Day today, so I have to spend some time eating doughnuts (eh?). Americans, you got to love ‘em!

Onwards and upwards!

I saw Gone Fishing at the Sedona International Film Festival and I absolutely loved it! As I’m sure everyone knows this short has amazing cinematography, editing, sound track, acting and directing. Congrats on winning two awards! I also just wanted to say that your stories about getting your DP and actors were very inspiring and being a soon-to-graduate filmmaker myself with no money it gives me a lot of hope that I can someday make films like this.
