We now have the date and time of the screening of ‘Gone Fishing’ in Cannes, and happily it’s on 35mm in the Palais, which is great. It’s on Tuesday before the party as planned, and I am already getting RSVP’s back, which is great. Remember, you want to come, email me at mail@livingspirit.com. Now we have times and venues we are going to hit the press, to see if we can generate any news stories down there. Word from Cannes is rather dismal though. Producer Ivan Clements just contacted me to tell me that it’s still raining and to make sure I pack my umbrella, and also, it looks like the French train drivers have chosen to go on strike! Blimey…
To help us out in Cannes, we are taking a few students from the Met Film School on a kind of unofficial field trip, in order to spread the word more widely about Gone Fishing. It’s always an uphill battle as there is so much stuff in Cannes and so much is always going on. I always think of it as like Disneyland but for grown ups! Bright, noisy, distracting, exhausting, intoxicating…
Right, final checks now… I suspect my next entry will be delivered from the beach front.
Onward and upward!
